A Special Committee for the welfare of students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes has been set up in the college to ensure proper implementation of various schemes of UGC, Government of India and State Government concerning scholarships, stipends etc.
The Committee promotes the special interests of students in the reserved category and provides inputs in areas where the students experience difficulties. The cell assures social equality via educational upliftment of the socially backward classes.
The SC/ST Committee empowers the SC/ST students in the college by educating the students of SC/ST categories about the government schemes, policies and programmes and to assist them in finding career opportunities.
OBJECTIVES
To guide and assist the students to address their personal, academic and social issues through interactive sessions and meetings.
To organise training programmes for the students pertaining to life skills, personality and career development programmes which enhance their placement opportunities.
To elevate appropriate awareness related to Higher Education schemes and opportunities among the SC/ST students specifically from those of rural areas.
To markup various scholarships schemes offered by the UGC, Central and State Government.
To encourage the students to utilize the library resources and facilities under Book Bank Scheme.
